Super Collision Damage Waiver (SCDW)

What is SCDW?

Strongly recommended for first-time renters in Japan.

If you pay the optional SCDW fee at contract, the deductible for property and vehicle damage will be waived unless excluded under policy terms.
However, a Non-Operation Charge (NOC) will be charged during the repair period.

When you subscribe to SCDW

¥ 2,530 per day

(Example) For 3 days: Daily rate × 3 days

¥ 1,430 per day

※For rentals up to one month, the maximum charge is capped at 15 days.
NOC (Non-Operation Charge) applies separately.

About NOC (Non-Operation Charge)

NOC is a compensation fee charged when a vehicle cannot be used for business due to an accident or trouble.

If the vehicle can be returned under its own power

If the vehicle cannot be driven

Fee varies depending on class.

Even if you subscribe to the deductible waiver, this charge applies.
If the vehicle is drivable but not returned to the branch (e.g., abandoned on the road), ¥50,000 will be charged.
For specialty class vehicles: ¥70,000 if drivable, ¥100,000 if not drivable.

Cases Where the Safety Pack Course Applies

Loss or damage of wheel caps
Damage caused by tire chains
Battery discharge
Damage from flying stones
Damage to mirrors, broken mirror glass

If returned in violation of traffic laws, it will be deemed not drivable and NOC will be charged.

Main Cases Where Compensation Does Not Apply (Important)

Please be sure to check

If you fail to report the accident to the police and rental branch (no accident certificate), including hit-and-run.
If the accident is caused by a driver not registered with our company.
Accidents caused by unlicensed driving, drunk driving, drug use, or subleasing.
Accidents that fall under insurance policy exclusions.
Soiling of the interior (animals, food, smoking in non-smoking vehicles including e-cigarettes).
If settlement is made without our permission.
Accidents resulting from violation of our rental agreement.
If the vehicle is stolen while parked with the key left inside.
Loss or damage of equipment.

In these cases, repair costs will be borne in full by the customer.

Cases Where Compensation Applies but Customer Charges Occur (Important)

Please be sure to check

If paid roadside service options are used (e.g., towing fees exceeding the limit).
Damage exceeding the compensation limit.
If driving under the influence, vehicle compensation (deductible) and the NOC non-drivable charge will be borne by the customer.

In these cases, part of the repair costs will be borne by the customer.
