Basic Policy

Each company within the Idex Group recognizes that, in conducting its respective business operations, compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI) and other applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines related to the protection of personal information is fundamental to its business activities and a social responsibility.

In order to ensure that customers (including those considering transactions with Idex Group companies or those interested in products and services of Idex Group companies), business partners, and other related parties described in "2. Purposes of Use of Personal Information" below (collectively, "Customers, etc.") can use the services of Idex Group companies with confidence, we will thoroughly educate and supervise our employees regarding the handling of personal information and strive to ensure its proper management.

We will also promptly respond to complaints and inquiries concerning the handling of personal information and will appropriately review and improve our measures relating to the handling and security management of personal information.

1. Acquisition and Use of Personal Information

When acquiring personal information, Idex Group companies will publicly announce or notify the purpose of use (including publication through this Policy). If personal information is acquired directly from the individual through contracts or other documents (including electronic records), the purpose of use will be clearly specified in advance. Personal information will be acquired by lawful and fair means.

Personal information will be used appropriately within the scope necessary to achieve the specified purposes of use.

2. Purposes of Use of Personal Information

(1) Personal Information of Customers, etc.

  • Advertising and provision of information regarding products, services, and campaigns via direct mail, email, etc. (*1, *2)
  • Delivery of behavioral targeting advertisements using advertising service providers such as Google and Yahoo (*3, *4)
  • Analysis of attribute information and behavioral history acquired by Idex Group companies in order to understand customers' preferences and interests (*2)
  • Provision of products and services safely, including detection of users who violate terms of use, notification to such users, investigation, detection and prevention of fraudulent activities such as fraud or unauthorized access, and responding to such activities

(*1) We analyze website browsing history, purchase history, and other information obtained from customers to provide services and deliver advertisements.

(*2) We may link information such as preferences and browsing history obtained from third parties with personal information already held by Idex Group companies. In such cases, we will obtain prior consent from customers and use such information within the scope of the purposes described above.

(*3) "Cookies" refer to technology that records and manages information of customers who use our websites on computers or application software. Our websites use Cookies to enhance user convenience.

(*4) We use Google Analytics provided by Google. Google collects customers' browsing history based on Cookies set by Idex Group companies or Google. We receive and analyze the results to understand usage status and improve our services. For information on how data is handled in Google Analytics, please refer to Google's website

(2) Personal Information of Business Partners

(In the case of corporate clients, this includes their officers and employees.)

(4) Personal Information of Participants in Seminars and Events

  • Communication and distribution of materials related to seminars and events

(5) Personal Information of Applicants for Recruitment Activities

  • Conducting recruitment selection

(6) Personal Information of Employees

(7) Personal Information in Insurance Agency Services

  • Handling procedures with insurance companies regarding payment of insurance claims and benefits

  • Providing information regarding insurance contract status via mail, SMS, direct mail, etc.

  • Improvement and strengthening of operational systems
  • Provision of information on seminars, financial information, and services
  • Implementation of campaigns and surveys
  • Advertising tailored to customer needs (including provision to outsourced advertising distributors)
  • Notifications regarding reservations and repeat reservations
  • Other operations related or incidental to insurance agency and financial product intermediary services, including provision of services

*The purposes of use of personal information by companies that outsource insurance sales activities to IDEX Group insurance companies are posted on the individual company website (see below).

*Handling of sensitive information, including the customers' health conditions and medical history, is based on customer consent and limited to the scope necessary for business operations in accordance with the Regulation for Enforcement of the Insurance Business Act and the Guidelines on the Protection of Personal Information in the Financial Sector.
IDEX Group companies will not acquire, use, or provide sensitive information to a third party for any other purpose.

3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Personal information will not be provided to third parties except in the following cases:

① With prior consent of the individual

② When outsourcing within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use

③ When required by law

④ When necessary to protect life, body, or property and obtaining consent is difficult

⑤ When particularly necessary for public health or the sound development of children and obtaining consent is difficult

⑥ When cooperation is required for governmental or local public bodies to perform legally prescribed duties and obtaining consent may interfere with such duties

⑦ Other cases permitted by laws and regulations

4. Joint Use of Personal Information

Personal information may be jointly used as follows:

(1) Items of Personal Information Subject to Joint Use

Name, address, date of birth, age, postal code, telephone number, fax number, email address, workplace, SNS account, purchase and transaction history, credit card number, expiration date, usage history and related information, communications, inquiry details, and information regarding website/mobile app usage including Cookies and logs.

(2) Scope of Joint Users

Idex Group companies, including but not limited to:

*Sales agent: Sales agent in HOD business, etc

(3) Purpose of Joint Use

Within the scope of the purposes described in Section 2 above.

5. Outsourcing

Personal information may be entrusted in whole or in part to subcontractors for the purpose of providing products and services or achieving the purposes of use. Appropriate contractual measures will be taken to ensure proper management.

6. Acquisition and Use of Related Personal Information

We may receive certain related personal information from third parties or directly from customers and link it with personal information for use within the stated purposes.

7. Security Control Measures

We implement appropriate security measures for personal information in accordance with applicable laws and guidelines and supervise employees and subcontractors.

(1) Development of basic policies

This Privacy Policy has been developed to ensure proper handling of personal information as an organization.

(2) Development of Discipline for Handling Personal Information

Personal information protection regulations have been established for procedures for handling personal information, personal information protection managers and their duties.

(3) Systematic Safety Management Measures

The Personal Information Protection Regulations stipulate measures for the safety management of personal information, and the Information Management Regulations stipulate the communication system for reporting personal information to the person in charge of information management in case of leakage or loss.

(4) Human Safety Management Measures

In accordance with the Personal Information Protection Regulations, we provide employees with education and training on personal information safety management. In addition, the Employment Rules stipulate matters concerning confidentiality of personal information.

(5) Technical and physical safety management measures

In order to prevent unauthorized access to personal information, loss, damage, destruction, tampering, leakage, and unauthorized leakage of personal information, information protection regulations stipulate rules for the use of information terminals and implement appropriate safety measures.

8. Requests for Disclosure, etc. of Personal Information

When a request is made for disclosure, correction, suspension of use, deletion, etc. of personal information, Idex Group companies will, after confirming that the request is made by the individual in accordance with the prescribed procedures, respond within a reasonable period and scope in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

(1) Requests for Disclosure

We will disclose the items of personal information requested by Customers, etc., the purposes of use, or records of provision to third parties.

(2) Requests for Correction, Deletion, or Addition

After confirming the details of the request, we will correct, delete, or add to the personal information of Customers, etc. within an appropriate and feasible scope.

(3) Requests for Suspension of Use or Erasure

In order to prevent unauthorized access to personal information, loss, damage, destruction, tampering, leakage, and unauthorized leakage of personal information, information protection regulations stipulate rules for the use of information terminals and implement appropriate safety measures.
